Sangaste Honey 500 g

Delicious Estonian honey from happy bees in the forests of Sangaste.

The Männiste family, who live near Sangaste, are second-generation beekeepers, and a third generation is already growing up. Rein Männiste’s parents, both mother and father, worked as beekeepers in Soviet times. Today the whole family is involved: besides Rein, his wife Piret and their sons Robi and Rich-Rodger.

“In beekeeping we mainly breed friendly bees, which is why every year I bring in a few new queens to prevent aggressive bees from taking over. The purer the breed, the friendlier the bee,” Männiste explained.
