What makes rosehip so special?

Rosehips are the fruits of more than 200 wild rose species; the best known of them is the dog rose (Rosa canina L.). The fruits of different species differ in colour, shape and size. This widespread plant thrives in sunny and relatively nutrient-poor soils on all continents in the temperate zone. The plant has long been valued in many parts of the world: it is used in cosmetics and consumed as tea, purée, oil or powder, both as a food and as a food supplement.

Unlike true fruits, the rosehip is technically a so-called accessory fruit, as it develops from the receptacle and not only from the ovary. In addition, the rosehip contains numerous small nutlets – the actual seeds – which is why it is botanically classified as an aggregate fruit of nutlets.

Recommended use

Recommended dose
Every day, mix about 2 heaped teaspoons (5 g each) into a smoothie, fruit juice, milk or yogurt, or stir into muesli or desserts.

Optimal time
Divide the dose between morning, lunch and evening. Can be taken with or without food.
