WHAT IS PROBIO-TEC™?

PROBIO-TEC™ contains two patented lactic acid bacteria: the bifidobacterium BB-12™ (Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis) and LGG™ (Lactobacillus rhamnosus) – among the most researched and documented strains in the world. The product was developed specifically for Nôgel by the world-renowned culture developer Chr. Hansen. The production strain has remained stable and genomically identical for the last 25 years. The LGG™ strain has been described in more than 250 publications on human studies. Laboratory studies have shown that the LGG™ strain has high bile and acid tolerance, which may be important for a strain to survive its passage through the digestive tract. 68% of the product is the patented LGG™.

The BB-12™ bacterium has been extensively studied in newborns, premature infants, children, pregnant women, adults and the elderly without safety concerns. Chr. Hansen’s BB-12™ strain has had 100% genome stability for decades, showing excellent stability in use and in storage. Laboratory studies have shown that BB-12™ survives well both at stomach acidity of pH 2.5 and in a 1% bile solution. 32% of the product is the patented BB-12™ bifidobacterium, which has been used in infant formulas, follow-on formulas and fermented dairy products since 1986.

The product is suitable for the whole family, from infants to the elderly. This additive-free product contains only three ingredients: sunflower oil and two patented probiotic strains that have been extensively studied in clinical trials.
