Description: 1% methylene blue dissolved in water is a deep blue solution used in various fields, including histology, microbiology, biology and the textile industry. Methylene blue was first prepared in 1876 and was the first patented “coal tar dye”. In histology, 1% methylene blue is often used as a stain to make nucleic acids and cell structures visible.
