Mayi salt is a natural spring salt extracted in liquid form from a depth of 1,300 metres beneath the Delice area of Kırıkkale, Turkey. Its salinity comes from underground rock salt formations. As it rises to the surface, the natural spring salt is enriched with minerals from the red soil, making it rich in minerals. Because its underground source is unaffected by environmental pollution, it is one of the rare types of salt free from microplastics and heavy metals. Without any refining process, it is dried in the sun in greenhouse-type pans using artisanal salt-making methods.
