This is not a fully ecological product, but a better alternative among hair colours. The larger and stronger harmful substances such as ammonia, preservatives (parabens), silicone and resorcinol have been removed from the product.
The most natural way to colour hair would of course be henna, but when colouring with henna several factors must be taken into account. Colouring with henna is a long and time-consuming process, and henna is a permanent colour. Henna and indigo cannot be removed from hair by bleaching or chemical colour removal. If you want to remove the colour from your hair completely, you would have to do it with scissors.
With hendigo/indigo you may be lucky, and after colour removal the hair can be coloured over nicely with a light colour. But it can also happen that after enthusiastic colour removal or bleaching, a very frazzled, lettuce-haired lady looks back at you from the mirror. Indigo (blue) in combination with bleaching colours or blonding agents that contain yellow will, quite according to the rules, give green.
Another important fact is that henna cannot make hair lighter than its own shade. Blonding henna, which some people come to this page looking for, does not exist. No plant-based toner or colour mixed from plant toners will make hair lighter than its own shade.
In addition, everything you have previously used on your hair can affect the final result.

Color&Soin does not contain:
Resorcinol – studies show that a small amount of resorcinol penetrates the skin during hair colouring. The free compounds remain in the stratum corneum and slowly become available to the bloodstream. Harmful to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract; may also cause hormonal disruption and thyroid disorders. Used in hair colours as a lightening agent. In conventional products there is no limit on how much of the substance may be added to personal care products.
Toluene-2,5-Diamine – causes scalp sensitivity and allergic reactions; harmful to hair, scalp and health.
1-Napthol – causes allergic reactions.
Ammonia – can damage the protein tyrosine inside the hair; when it is damaged, the hair loses its ability to hold colour pigment. An alkaline substance that raises the pH of the hair. As a result, the hair swells and the cuticle opens so that colour pigments can penetrate the inside of the hair. Ammonia turns hydrogen into water and acid, and as a result the colour initially lightens. Small colour molecules combine with the free acid to form large colour pigments, which penetrate the hair and are fixed due to swelling. As the colour fades, the smaller pigments are removed from the hair first, leaving the large base pigments that give depth to the shade. As is typical of permanent colours, the colour does not wash out but grows out with a visible line.
Color&Soin contains less than conventional colours:
Ethanolamine is a colourless, viscous, flammable liquid with an ammonia-like smell. Ethanolamine is obtained by reacting ammonia with ethylene oxide, which is formed when ethylene reacts with oxygen. In hair colours it is used as a substitute for ammonia, as ethanolamine is also an alkaline substance, like ammonia. It is used in both demi- and semi-permanent colours; in the colour we offer, the ethanolamine content is only 3%. In permanent colours the required content must be 9%, compared with ammonia, whose content is usually 1.8-3%.
Because the amount of ethanolamine in permanent colours is always so high, it may not be possible to wash it out of the hair completely. As a result, every time the hair is washed, water acts as an oxidiser and the hair colouring process repeats. Ethanolamine irritates the eyes, skin and lungs.
PPD (phenylenediamines) – cause allergic reactions, skin sensitivity and mutations. Used because the substance helps the colour reach the hair roots. May cause allergic reactions on delicate skin.
P-phenylenediamine is used in hair colours as a dye. There is more p-phenylenediamine in dark hair colours.
Hydrogen peroxide – a hydrogen solution which, unlike in conventional colours, is not present in pure form in the product.
4-Chlororesorcinol – not to be confused with resorcinol. Washes out the hair’s pigment so that the colour can attach to the hair. It is present in smaller amounts in dark colours.
