Sangaste Honey 700 g

Delicious Estonian honey from happy bees in the Sangaste forests.

The Männiste family, who live near Sangaste, are second-generation beekeepers, and a third generation is already growing up. Both of Rein Männiste’s parents worked as beekeepers in Soviet times. Today the whole family is involved: besides Rein, his wife Piret and sons Robi and Rich-Rodger.

“In beekeeping, we breed above all for friendly bees, so every year I bring in a few new queen bees to prevent bad-tempered and aggressive bees from taking over. The more purebred the bee, the friendlier it is,” Männiste shared.
