Quinoa pronounced ‘keen-wa’ is a versatile, ancient grain-like seed. Organic Quinoa is rich in essential amino acids, vitamin B2, E and A, and contains more iron than any other grain. It can be substituted in any recipe calling for rice & is also great in soups and salads. As well as these nutritional benefits of Quinoa, it’s also an exciting gluten freealternative for coeliacs, as a substitute for a range of cereal grains. Vegetarians also love the Quinoa grain, providing a complete source of protein, which is usually only obtainable from mainly animal products.
Directions: Rinse the grains and cook for 10-15 minutes, covered (1 part of quinoa with 2 parts of water). Add salt.
