Vital substances:  Cinnamon has been used since 3000 BC. Used by us humans. Not only did / make use of its aromatic properties, but also its many healing properties.

Cinnamon is used in:

Cinnamon has a very high antioxidant capacity of 131,420! µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity). By consuming foods rich in antioxidants, the body’s defense mechanism can be strengthened and an overproduction of free radicals can be balanced out. An ORAC daily requirement between 5000 and 7000 is recommended. ¹

Quality of cinnamon:  With cinnamon you should pay attention to the quality once more, because the cheaper cassia cinnamon contains coumarin. Coumarin is classified as harmful in higher amounts.

Description:  Our organic Fairtrade cinnamon powder is a fine and pure cinnamon powder. It is real Ceylon cinnamon (see quality of cinnamon). Due to the organic cultivation method and the fair cooperation, our cinnamon powder not only has many important ingredients, but also a lively care that is lived from the ground up. Even if it is “only” a spice, we assume that how the food is handled has a decisive influence on the quality of the products.

Origin and production: We source  our organic Fairtrade cinnamon powder from Sri Lanka. The growing areas are largely organic and FAIRTRADE certified and are cultivated by the FAIRTRADE farmers who live there. The farmers belong to one of the two fair trade groups SOFA or MOPA. Thanks to the cooperation with Fairtrade, the farmers can earn their livelihood securely and independently. The Fairtrade Premium can be used to pay for projects such as clean drinking water, school materials for the children and educational projects.

After the manual harvest, the cinnamon bark is dried and then ground into powder. Many work steps are traditionally carried out exclusively by hand.

In Austria, the cinnamon powder is pressure treated and checked again several times. When pressure is removed, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
