An additional source of inulin and vitamin E.
Recommended for use in all cases of gastrointestinal digestive system disorders that are prevalent in all age groups and caused mainly by imbalanced nutrition. Inulin is a nutrient for all lacto- and bifidobacteria.
1 tablet contains: Tubers of Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), plant breed „Ekstra“ – 600 mg; Calcium alginate – 40 mg; Vitamin E (tocopherol acetate) – 10 mg, of wich pure vitamin E – 4,5 mg (45% of recommended daily dosage)
Dosage: adults 1 tablet 2 times a day, with food.
Due to the lack of sideffects, Baktrum is suitable for long term use (6 months), which allows it to be recommended for people suffering from chronic and inflammatory diseases.
Contraindications: individual intolerance to the components contained in the product, pregnancy, breastfeeding. Consulting a doctor before use is advisable.
Storage: In a dry, dark place, out of reach of children, at a temperature not more than 25oC.

Disorders of digestive system are particularly prevalent in older age groups and may be caused by loss of teeth, poor digestion, atrophic gastritis, decreased production of gastric acid, and decreased intestinal peristalsis. With increasing age the above will lead to a slow digestion and formation of blockages. Change in the intestinal microflora, creates a predisposition to intoxication, a decline in liver functions and formation of cancer.
Baktrum positively affects human health. By its chemical structure Baktrum is a combination of fructose polymers – oligosaccharides, which are indigestible carbohydrates resistant to the acidic – fermentative hydrolysis processes occuring in the upper gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, they are intact when reaching the large intestine, where they exert their functional efficacy at the level of the symbiotic microflora and selectively stimulate growth of bifidobacteria and metabolic activity.
Baktrum’s antiparasitic action lies in supporting the population of bifidobacteria, which with respect to the other bacterial species should be predominant in the large intestine under normal circumstances. Inulin’s high efficacy towards bifidobacteria is related to the ability of the latter to synthesize P-fructosidase, which allows them to utilize fructose oligosaccharides as a metabolic substrate.
Increase in the population of bifidobacteria and lactobacillus lowers populations of other bacteria (such as Staphylococcus, Enterobacteriaceae, Bacteroides, pathogenic clostridia) and restores the balance of gastrointestinal microflora.
Dietary fibers affect intestinal peristalsis, remove blockages, bind water and increase the amount and frequency of defecation. Volunteer based tests proved a diet containing large amounts of fructose oligosaccharides significantly increases the amounts of defecation.
Inulin showed better laxative effects whereas lactose increased the occurance of functional blockages. Inulin and its hydrolyzate (oligofructose) also promotes lowering the levels of cholesterol and atherogenic lipids (especially triglycerides) in the blood.
This effect is mainly associated with a fast reduction in the synthesis of lipids in the liver, which is especially relevant in cases of cardiovascular pathologies. Inulin fibers slow down the absorption of glucose and insulin from blood, which is very important for the normal functioning of the pancreas.
