The cocoa for this chocolate comes from São Tomé, an island off the coast of West Africa and once nicknamed “Chocolate Island”. The challenge on this island is to preserve and sustainably renovate aging plantations. Thanks to fairtrade, producers get a fair price for their labor, regardless of the cocoa price.
